GitHub

Git hosting, pull requests, and the default home for a lot of open source.

Overview

GitHub is where code review, issues, and a large share of open source already live. Public repos and a usable free tier cover many small teams; paid plans matter once you need advanced security, larger runners, or enterprise controls. It is not a project manager for non-engineers, even though issues can stretch that far. If the team writes code, this is usually the first tool on the list.
